Svan mother with cubs

This swan was with their cubs just a few metres from a causeway. She proudly showed off their kids for those who passed. A note of the eggs that she is on and that never hatched. The picture was taken at a bird lake in Sweden called Lake Hornborga. From here, I will show more pictures.

This is such a heartwarming shot!Do you know if the swan will sit on the unhatched egg even if it is never going to hatch?I wonder what mom swan is thinking if she is capable of 'feeling' for her young...whatever it is,this is a wonderfully brilliant shot.:)~tyan

@tyan: Thank you for your comment. Swan mother abandoned egg that never hatched after someone just days after I took this picture. So I assume that they have a feeling that something is wrong.

A beautiful thing to witness. You captured this swan with chicks in a natural setting and nice light. Unfortunate about the eggs she may not give up on them for awhile.

@Stunner: Thank you for the comment. She seemed not to care saithe that it did people go there all the time. She had its nest just a few feet from a bridge where it always went bird-watchers

Who could ever have considered a swan an "ugly duckling"?
This scene (and the way you captured it) is lovely, touching, and well constructed. This and your other examples of water fowl show a great sensibility and awareness of nature and our place in it. You are very respectful in your approach.
