This viper low and slept in the sun and I was fortunate enough to get a couple of good photos. It is not easy to get pictures of snakes when they are very shy. This is Sweden's only poisonous snake. But they are not deadly poisonous. But it becomes quite ill if it becomes part. I photographed it on a half feet away. Fortunately for me to sleep hard.

Wow, great shot! The only snakes I see here, move very fast so I have to be even faster! Didn't know Sweden had snakes too!

@Monique: Thank you for your comment. Yes, we have snakes. But only two different species. But only this is a toxic substance. Then, it is slightly different variations on them. viper on this photo is available in three different variations. One of them is striped with white body and black zigzag pattern. It is most common. And it is with brown zigzag also

He is a beauty and he looks very large. You would not get me that close. We have small garden snakes here where I love on the West Coast of Canada and they are not poisonous at all. Most people are pretty scared of snakes. Great shot.
